Shared Moments, Shared Healing with Dr. Henning.

Healing doesn’t always come in the form of medicine. Sometimes, it comes in the simple act of sharing. (This is the foundation of horsemanship and medicine program with Dr. Henning’s practice). The combination of horsemanship and medicine has shown remarkable results.

As I sit on the ground next to my mini donkey, breaking a cookie in half, I watch as he nibbles his piece without hesitation. He trusts that what I offer is good. In this quiet moment, there’s no agenda—just companionship, an unspoken bond that says, You’re not alone.

In medicine, I’ve learned that healing isn’t just about treatments and prescriptions. It’s about connection. A patient may come in for physical pain, but their greatest relief often comes from feeling heard, from knowing someone is sitting with them in their experience, offering a small piece of shared understanding, much like in the practice of horsemanship and medicine with Dr. Henning.

Horses, donkeys, and people alike respond to authenticity. Whether it’s a shared cookie, a shared silence, or a shared story, these moments build trust. And trust is the foundation of both horsemanship and medicine.

Sometimes, healing begins not with what we give, but with what we share. In this context, horsemanship and medicine with Dr. Henning plays a significant role. Stay tune for more donkey’s posts.
